Aston Villa, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion Premier League 4 Sport badminton clubs recently came together in a regional finals event at Nechells Leisure Centre in Birmingham, on Tuesday 8^th March 2011.

 

Unfortunately due to last minute cancellations from the school teams Aston Villa were only represented in the boys’ competition. Five Key Stage 3 boys from Holte School in Aston played their socks off in both the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 competitions! The boys had a fantastic attitude for the game and towards their competitors; they showed off their skills and managed to beat off tough competition from Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion to win in the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 finals.

 

A huge well done to the boys, they were extremely tired at the end of the day after taking part in both competitions, but they did not let this stop them from taking the victory!

 

After the competition all of the participants involved in the competition from the three football clubs, had the opportunity to go to the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham to see some of the worlds top badminton players at the All England badminton championships. This was a fantastic opportunity for the youngsters to see some high class badminton being played.
