Mixed Doubles Medal Award Ceremony

The Spanish Badminton Federation issued the following:

Dear Badminton Friends,

On behalf of the Organising Committee, I would like to formally apologise for the appalling technical problem that occurred during the Mixed Doubles Medal Award Ceremony.

The video processor of the giant screens in the 'Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid' did not reinitiate properly and as a consequence we were not able to show the national flag of England to honour the British Mixed Doubles medallist.

Please forward our most sincere apologies to all your team members, supporters and lovers of our sport and especially to Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson, splendid 2006 World Champions and worthy of all our respect and admiration.
