Adcock's golden target

Chris Adcock goes into two quarter-finals today with his sights set on gold in his doubles events at the Emirates Arena.

After he and Andy Ellis booked their place in the last eight of the men's doubles with a 21-10 21-13 win over Northern Ireland's Tony Murphy and Tony Stephenson, he said: “We want to get ourselves into the medal matches and we want gold.

"But there are a lot of very good pairs so we will take it a game at a time and day by day. Hopefully on Sunday, we will find ourselves in with a chance in the final.”

Ellis added: “The only pressure we will suffer from is from our own expectations of what we want to do. We are ambitious people and I think if we play well, we are happy.”
