Roebuck and Wallwork win in Scotland
KRISTIAN ROEBUCK (Derbyshire) and Jenny Wallwork (Yorkshire) took their first major title together when they won the mixed doubles at the Bank of Scotland International Championships at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow this afternoon.
The England pair beat Denmark's Rasmus Mangor Andersen and Russia's Anastasia Russkikh 15-8 14-17 15-5 to check a Russian domination of finals day.
Now the England pair have their sights set on the Irish International, the Yonex All England Open and the English National Championships.
But first they will tackle the ASICS National Elite Open Grand Finals at the English Institute of Sport - Sheffield on December 14.
For 18-year-old Jenny that is a big event on her home turf as Roebuck pointed out: "That's where you train."
And Roebuck added: "It's our first big win together and we hope this is the start of a regular partnership. We had a bit of a shaky start against the Irish pair O'Halloran and Huang but we played well in the end.
"The atmosphere in the main hall was great and this really is the No 1 event on the EBU circuit."
