The English National Badminton Championships, in partnership with badmintondiscount.com, Carlton, Hi-Tec and Manchester City Council, are being held at the Manchester Velodrome between the 3rd and 5th February 2006.

Last seasons Championships saw Aamir Ghaffar (Middx) retain his Men's Singles title by beating Nick Kidd (Avon), whilst Jersey Islander Elizabeth Cann triumphed over Olympic Quarter Finallist Tracey Hallam (Staffs) in the Women's Singles. The Men's Doubles title was awarded to Simon Archer (Worcs) and Anthony Clark (Notts) after their victory over Robert Blair (Leics) and Nathan Robertson (Notts) after a gruelling match.

Gail Emms (Herts) walked away with two titles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles, after joining forces with Donna Kellogg (Derby) to beat Joanne Nicholas (formerly Wright - Lancs) and Ella Tripp (Cheshire), and then stepping on court with Nathan Robertson to demonstrate the form used to win their Silver medal at Athens 2004. They beat Robert Blair and Natalie Munt (Herts) in the final.

Tickets are selling fast for the 2006 Championships, and following some surprising results from recent domestic events, the titles will be strongly fought after. Make sure you are part of the action!
