Satellite Club Ambassadors & Middlesbrough FC
School ambassadors are the driving force for the success of the Egglescliffe School’s satellite session, which is part of Middlesbrough Football Club’s Premier League 4 Sport structure. The two ambassadors have worked together on various initiatives in and outside of school to promote the weekly session. With over 70 pupils registered for this PL4S session, and at least 30 players attending each week, it is expected additional court time will have to be sourced for the coming year.
The pair are not stopping there. In preparation of the new year 7 pupils starting at the school in September, the session has expanded its vision and the primary schools linked to Egglescliffe School are now invited to attend a primary school session which runs alongside the PL4S, and aims to reduce the anxiety of pupils moving from a primary to secondary school environment. This also will assist in maintaining the session’s numbers for next year. The consistency of pupils playing each week has really raised the level of badminton in the school, which will build strength to the school’s entry in the 2010/11 Centre Parc National School Championships, and the local Stockton School Sport Partnership competition league.
