The 2009 Sports Club Survey is overseen by the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR), an umbrella organisation whose mission is to 'protect, promote and provide' for sport and recreation. The survey covers such areas as membership, volunteers and finances. The information it provides will help CCPR as it lobbies Government to promote the welfare of sport, and argues for increased support and funding for sports clubs. The results will also help governing bodies of sport – including BADMINTON England – to understand more about the clubs they work with.
