Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier’s incredible journey came to an  end at Wembley Arena this afternoon when they lost the mixed doubles final at the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships.

Anglo-Scot badminton pair Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier will play for Gold tomorrow after beating 2nd seeds, Tantowi Ahmed and Liliyana Natsir from Indonesia 21-16, 21-19 to reach the mixed doubles final at the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships.  

Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier stun 4th seeds (and world ranked 3 pair) from China 21-16, 21-18 with an electrifying display of badminton in tonight's Quarter Final to set up a Semi Final spot and guarantee a bronze medal at the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships.

Double delight for Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier as the Anglo-Scot Mixed Doubles partnership reached the Quarter Finals at the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships AND climb 2 places to 18th in the World ranking.

Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier head into today's crunch Round 3 clash with Japan's Shintaro Ikeda and Reiko Shiota in confident mood and with recent results on their side.  A Quarter Final slot at the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships await the winners. 

The Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships experience of young English wildcards entries, Lauren Smith, Alex Langley and Toby Penty was halted at Wembley Arena this afternoon - but it took some some seeded players to finally put pay to their challenge.
