It is from Badminton House, the home of the Duke of Beaufort and Somerset family that the name badminton has originated. The house is not open to the public, but the National Badminton Museum has already been able to arrange for two parties of Friends of the Museum to visit. 

A group from Norfolk organised by Roger Cetti and Norma Bowen visited the National Badminton Centre.

It is estimated that about 70 visitors came to the National Badminton Museum on September 12th from all over the country including as far away as Cheshire, Sussex and Gloucestershire. The museum Open Day was held in conjunction with Heritage Open Days all over the country.
